    Prayer for the Living

On the path to transition, I humbly ask permission to walk these few steps withyou before you must take that last step alone.

One last time to pray with you.

First, I humbly ask God and the holy spirit to remove your pain. May any physical discomfort be gone.

May you find peace in knowing that you made peace with those around you

May you release the weight of this world knowing you are leaving it with love as your legacy.

And with a legacy, comes knowledge that is passed down.

The world thought you were tame, but I know your secret that you left to me

You still are the original woman who runs with the wolves.

Grandma, thank you for exemplifiying the wild woman archetype.

    Always classy, but never mild.

Acknowledgement but walking in the truth.

I am glad that your spirit may be released.

For almost 50 years, you loved me and asked nothing in return.

You taught me lessons, was generous with your time.

The world thought you were tame, but I knew better.

Despite not having a license you had more miles on the road than most people.

You kept God first but never shied away from adventure

Never raised your voice, but knew how to command a room

Selfless, but practicing the art of selfishness to not burn out.

So selfishly I ask, when you become an ancestor, continue to guide me, continue to nurture me, continue to push me to walk in my power.

Help me to remember my past, so I can live in my future.

I love you with the inifity of the galaxy.

    Thank you for loving me.

    Always,

    Your granddaughter,

    Damali
